2. Where to have New Year’s Eve dinner in Ibiza
Not everyone wants to spend the entire evening in a club. A special dinner is a lovely way to celebrate, whether you’re planning a romantic evening, a meal with friends or a festive night before heading out.
A number of Ibiza restaurants have already announced their plans for 31 December 2026.
Ibiza Food Studio – Taller Sa Penya
For a special festive menu, take a look at Ibiza Food Studio, which is hosting a New Year’s Eve dinner at Taller Sa Penya.
The menu brings together seasonal ingredients and more elaborate dishes. Starters include hamachi crudo, lobster ravioli and foie gras with winter greens and black truffle. For the main course, guests can choose between poached cod with a creamy mussel sauce and carrot purée, or beef tenderloin with truffle jus and crispy potato.
The evening finishes with a chocolate dessert, petit fours and marzipan.
The in-house dinner costs €200 per person, including the full menu and experience. There are also catering options available for those celebrating elsewhere.
It’s a good option if the food is an important part of your New Year’s Eve plans.
Rigatoni Ibiza
If you like the idea of dinner followed by music and entertainment, Rigatoni Ibiza is hosting a New Year’s Eve dinner and party.
The event takes place from 21:30 on 31 December until 04:00 on 1 January.
There are two menu options:
€70 per person: a choice of meat or pasta, with wine and water included, plus music.
€100 per person: the Bellavista menu, with three courses, a choice of meat or fish, one bottle of Bellavista for every two guests, water and a dinner show.
Located in Ibiza Town, Rigatoni is a convenient choice if you want to enjoy dinner and keep the celebrations going without travelling between different venues.
Pacha Restaurant
Pacha is not just opening its club for New Year’s Eve. Its restaurant is also welcoming guests for a special dinner on 31 December.
Pacha Restaurant serves Japanese-Mediterranean cuisine, with dinner available from 20:00 until midnight.
After dinner, guests can continue the evening at Pachacha, which is scheduled to open from 22:30 until 05:00. Restaurant guests receive priority access, subject to capacity.
One thing worth knowing: the main Pacha nightclub is normally closed during the winter season. Its Music On event on New Year’s Eve is a special opening, rather than part of the regular winter programme.
More restaurants to consider
Several other restaurants are listed for New Year’s Eve reservations on OpenTable. Options include:
Casa Colonial – a restaurant in Santa Eulària.
SA COVA Old Town – in the heart of Ibiza Town.
Jara at The Standard – a central Ibiza Town option.
Can Curreu – in the countryside near Es Canar.
Stevie Alla Bottega – in Santa Gertrudis.
CBbC Marina Santa Eulalia – overlooking the marina in Santa Eulària.
Piccola Cucina Ibiza – in the Roca Llisa area.
A listing on a reservation platform doesn’t necessarily mean that a special New Year’s Eve menu has been confirmed. Check directly with the restaurant for its menu, prices and available times before booking.
Our tip: Make your dinner reservation early. Ibiza has fewer restaurants open during the winter months than in summer, and the places that do open for New Year’s Eve can fill up quickly.
3. Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Ibiza Town
If you’d rather enjoy a local celebration, Ibiza Town is a great place to spend the evening.
The area around Vara de Rey traditionally becomes a meeting point for locals and visitors on New Year’s Eve. It’s a chance to experience a different side of Ibiza, away from the clubs and beach clubs.
In Spain, one of the best-known New Year’s Eve traditions is eating twelve grapes at midnight. One grape is eaten with each chime of the clock, with each one representing good luck for a month of the coming year. It sounds simple, but keeping up with all twelve can be quite a challenge!
The official programme for 31 December 2026 has not yet been announced. Details of public celebrations, music and entertainment may be released closer to the date, so check the local council’s updates before heading into town.
If you’re staying nearby, this is an easy way to join in the celebrations without committing to a full club night. You can enjoy dinner, walk into the centre for midnight and decide afterwards whether to call it a night or continue elsewhere.
4. Things to do on New Year’s Day in Ibiza
Fancy a fresh start? Join the traditional New Year’s Day swim at Salinas.
This refreshing New Year’s Day tradition actually comes from the Netherlands! It’s the Dutch community on Ibiza that organises the annual swim, bringing together Dutch residents, locals and visitors for a first dip in the Mediterranean. Afterwards, participants can warm up with a cup of hot chocolate.. or a glass of wine.
It’s a fun and friendly way to welcome the new year – and a rather different start to the day after a night of celebrations!
The 2027 edition and exact starting time have not yet been confirmed, so check local announcements closer to the date. Bring a towel and something warm to change into. The sea may look inviting, but December and January are not exactly swimming season in Ibiza!
Take a winter walk along the coast
If a sea swim sounds a little too adventurous, a coastal walk is a lovely alternative.
Winter is a great time to explore Ibiza’s quieter side. The beaches are less busy, the roads are calmer and you can enjoy the scenery without the summer crowds.
Some lovely places to explore include:
Ses Salines: walk along the beach and enjoy views across the natural park.
Cala Llonga: a beautiful bay surrounded by hills, ideal for a relaxed stroll.
Santa Eulària: follow the promenade along the coast and stop for a coffee in town.
Cala d’Hort: enjoy the views towards Es Vedrà, one of Ibiza’s most recognisable landmarks.
Do check local conditions before setting off, especially if you plan to explore more remote coastal paths.
Continue the celebrations at Circoloco
If you’re not quite ready to slow down, there’s also Circoloco at DC10 on 1 January.
The afternoon event gives you another chance to enjoy Ibiza’s electronic music scene before the island settles back into its quieter winter rhythm.
5. Where to stay in Ibiza for New Year’s Eve
Choosing the right base can make your New Year’s Eve plans much easier. Some parts of the island are quieter in winter, while others keep more restaurants, bars and hotels open.
Ibiza Town
Ibiza Town is one of the most convenient places to stay if you’re planning to celebrate in the centre or visit venues such as Pacha and Lío.
You’ll also be close to the Vara de Rey celebrations, restaurants and the Figueretas New Year’s Day swim. If you don’t want to rely too much on taxis, staying in or around town is a sensible choice.
The old town, known as Dalt Vila, is particularly atmospheric in winter. Its narrow streets and historic buildings make a lovely setting for a wander before dinner.
Santa Eulària and the north of the island
If you’d prefer a quieter stay, consider Santa Eulària or the villages in the north.
Santa Eulària has a year-round local community, a marina, restaurants and a pleasant seafront promenade. It’s also a convenient base if you’re planning to visit Akasha at Las Dalias.
The villages around Sant Carles and Santa Gertrudis offer a more rural feel, although you’ll want to arrange transport if you’re heading out for the evening.
Sant Antoni
Sant Antoni is another option, particularly if you find a good hotel deal. The town is quieter in winter than during the summer season, but there are still local restaurants and places to explore.
Keep in mind that it’s further from the main New Year’s Eve venues in Ibiza Town and Marina Botafoch. Factor in taxi journeys when choosing where to stay.
A useful tip: Winter accommodation availability is more limited than in summer. Check that your chosen hotel is actually open over the festive period, and confirm whether breakfast, restaurants and other facilities are available.
6. Getting around Ibiza on New Year’s Eve
Transport is worth planning before the celebrations begin. Ibiza’s winter public transport network is more limited than its summer service, and getting a taxi immediately after midnight can be difficult.
Taxis
Taxis are available in winter, but demand can be high around midnight and after major club events.
If you’re staying outside Ibiza Town, don’t leave your journey home until the last minute. Ask your accommodation about local taxi options and consider arranging a pick-up in advance where possible.
Public transport
Public transport in Ibiza is very limited during the winter months. Some bus routes continue to operate, but services are reduced and many parts of the island are not well connected. The Discobus is a seasonal summer service, so don’t expect it to be running over New Year’s Eve.
If you’re staying in a villa, rural hotel or accommodation outside the main towns, public transport is unlikely to be a practical option.
Rental car
A rental car can be useful if you’re staying outside the main towns or want to explore the island during the day.
However, if you’re planning to drink or party, leave the car behind and arrange another way home. Never drive after drinking, and remember that some rural roads are dark and unfamiliar at night.
7. What is the weather like in Ibiza in December and January?
Ibiza enjoys a mild Mediterranean winter, but don’t expect summer temperatures. December and January are generally cooler, with daytime temperatures often around 15–17°C and colder evenings.
You can still enjoy sunny days, coastal walks and outdoor lunches, but rain and wind are also possible.
Pack a mix of layers: a light jacket for daytime, something warmer for the evening and comfortable shoes for exploring. If you’re going to an outdoor event or planning to stay out late, bring an extra layer. Temperatures can drop quite a bit after sunset.
The sea is also much cooler than in summer, which makes the New Year’s Day swim all the more impressive!
Welcome 2027 in Ibiza
New Year’s Eve in Ibiza offers plenty of ways to celebrate, whether you’re after a big night out, a memorable dinner or a more relaxed start to the new year.
Dance at Pacha, enjoy dinner at Taller Sa Penya, join the local celebrations in Ibiza Town or take a dip in the Mediterranean on 1 January. And if one night isn’t enough, Circoloco at DC10 gives you another reason to keep the celebrations going.
Just remember to book ahead, check event details as they are updated and plan your transport. Then all that’s left is to enjoy the island and welcome 2027 the Ibiza way.
